Data methodology

A simple explanation of how EKOKI(N) reports and zones are collected, verified and published.

Principle

A progressive, verifiable base for field coordination

EKOKI(N) does not publish reports automatically. The platform progressively documents verified zones to help citizens, local actors, NGOs, institutions and partners better understand field priorities.

Where does the data come from?

Information comes from reports submitted through the platform, feedback from identified actors, public research and internal checks carried out by the EKOKI(N) team.

How is it verified?

Each report is reviewed before publication: GPS position, photo, commune, type of issue, consistency with existing zones and risk of duplication.

How does a report become a zone?

A report first remains private in the admin area. After review, it can be linked to an existing zone, used to create a new zone or rejected if it cannot be used.

Why are some coordinates approximate?

Some positions may be approximate when geolocation is missing, imprecise or inconsistent. In that case, the zone remains to be verified before publication.

Statuses used

Statuses indicate the processing level of a zone or report. They avoid presenting information under review as definitive.

Published zone: verified information visible on the public map.
To verify: report received or zone under internal review.
Position to confirm: missing, approximate or inconsistent GPS coordinates.
Incomplete information: photo, context or details insufficient for reliable publication.
