Data that may be collected

Data that may be collected

  • Follow-up contact, only if you choose to provide it.
  • GPS position or coordinates of the reported zone, needed to verify and locate the report.
  • Photos submitted with a report, plus useful metadata when available, such as capture date or GPS position.
  • Information describing the zone, type of issue, intervention needs or details useful for verification.
  • Information linked to administrator accounts, used only to secure access to the management area.
  • Minimal technical data needed for operation, security and abuse prevention.

Data collection limited to project needs

EKOKI(N) only collects information needed to verify a report, document a zone and improve coordination around waste management and the urban environment in Kinshasa.

Why this data is used

This data is used to verify reports, avoid duplicates, link multiple reports to the same zone, follow field needs and improve the quality of published information.

What may become public

A report is not published automatically. After verification, only information useful to the public may be visible: zone, municipality, issue type, status, approved photos and follow-up information. Contact details are not published.

Basis for using the data

Information is submitted voluntarily to contribute to EKOKI(N). The form asks for explicit agreement before submission. The data is then processed for the project purpose: verification, moderation, coordination and improvement of available information.

Who can access it

Unpublished information is accessible only to authorised EKOKI(N) administrators. Public data is limited to verified information or details useful for understanding the zones.

Hosting and services used

The website is hosted with Vercel and the data is stored with Supabase. Photos are kept in Supabase storage. The AI assistant, when used in the admin area, is only an internal verification aid and does not replace human decision-making.

Retention

Information is kept as long as needed for verification, report follow-up, zone history and database improvement. Rejected or no longer useful reports may be deleted or anonymised according to project needs.

Cookies

At this stage, EKOKI(N) does not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies. Technical cookies may be used for administrator authentication and proper site operation. If audience measurement tools are added later, this page will be updated and an appropriate mechanism will be provided.

Security

Administrator access is restricted to authorised accounts. Sensitive technical keys are not publicly displayed. Unvalidated data remains private until the project team makes a decision.

Your rights

You can request access, correction or deletion of personal information you have submitted. Requests can be sent to the EKOKI(N) project team using the address shown on this page.

Point to confirm

This page provides clear information for the pilot phase. It does not replace a full legal audit. The wording may be adjusted once the official governance of the project is formalised.
