About EKOKI(N)

EKOKI(N) is a coordination platform to make reported areas, environmental issues and useful actors more visible in Kinshasa.

Why this platform?

In Kinshasa, many initiatives already exist, but they are often scattered, not very visible or difficult to connect. EKOKI(N) seeks to create a common space to identify who is acting, where, on which waste streams and with which needs.

Our approach

Map

Make actors and their intervention areas visible, even when some data still needs confirmation.

Verify progressively

Clearly indicate the current confidence level of the data and encourage verifiable corrections.

Facilitate connections

Help partners identify priority needs and concrete collaboration opportunities.

Who it serves

  • Local actors in collection, recycling, sanitation and awareness
  • Communes and public services involved in urban management
  • NGOs, associations and community initiatives
  • Companies, collectors, recyclers and support structures
  • Diaspora members wishing to support concrete and verifiable projects
  • Institutions, technical partners and funders

What the platform is not

  • EKOKI(N) does not replace public authorities or official waste-management systems.
  • Being listed on the platform does not automatically certify an actor.
  • Published data is not considered final: it is meant to be corrected, enriched and verified.
